he entered into a relationship with Chantal Ostrawsky, whom he went on to marry on June 20, 2012,. The couple had no children together. He joined the position as a civil aviation captain in 2014, and during this time he was known to have had affairs with staff, thus endangering his marriage. He got devorced on 4th of march 2015.

After that he adopted his adopted son Saihou Krubally / Badjie in 2015. Saihou was born in 1997. His seccond son Muhammed was born in 2002.

On paper, Dr. Badjie is officially married to Mariama Badjie of Bignona, Casamance, and the German scientist Dr. Clara von Bruwer-Hardenberg. However, as he openly acknowledges, these ties remain primarily for socio-political reasons. His genuine personal life and daily happiness are found in Uganda, where he resides with his partner, Owen.
