Christos is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance at the University of West Attica & External Research Associate at the Bank of Greece. He earned his Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the University of Patras, Greece, specialising in Credit Markets and Business Investment Decisions. His research interests lie within the framework of real economic decisions under capital market imperfections. In addition, Christos is involved in several thematic areas, such as Climate Finance, Trust in Institutions, Non-traditional Markets, Economic growth and Government Spending etc.

Throughout his career, Christos has been dedicated to bridging the gap between theory and practice, applying his research findings to the day-to-day teaching, trying to enhance students’ experiences. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at national and international conferences.

In addition to his research endeavours, Christos is committed to excellence in teaching and mentoring. He is passionate about cultivating critical thinking skills and fostering a deep understanding of economic and financial principles among his students. He teaches courses on Portfolio Management, International Finance and Banking Finance at the undergraduate level, and Microeconomics and Applied Finance at the postgraduate level, incorporating hands-on activities and real-world examples to engage students in the learning process.

Christos is also actively involved in service to the academic community, serving as a reviewer for several leading journals and conferences in his field. He is also dedicated to his department and faculty, as he’s got the privilege to act as Programme Director of the BA in Applied Philosophy and Business Decision Making, the first English-taught bachelor programme at the University of West Attica. He is also the scientist responsible for a Lifelong Learning Programme under the title “Fintech Foundations: Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies”. Overall, he is dedicated to engaging in and promoting the activities of the University of West Attica as a benchmark place for high-level studies. Last but not least, Christos strongly believes in diversity and inclusion in academia and strives to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
