DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR DPAC Senior Scholarship Due Sunday, April 14th!

The Deer Park Arts Council (DPAC) presents scholarships to deserving students who meet the criteria determined by the Scholarship Committee and approved by the DPAC membership. The scholarships include a monetary award and a Certificate of Recognition. 

The application must be submitted to deerparkartscouncil.org/scholarships Deadline was extended to Sunday April 14, 2024 at 11:59pm EST. 

The Committee evaluates each candidate on the following criteria:

- The applicant must demonstrate participation in the art discipline they are applying for by providing a list of what classes/activities they have done along with a teacher/supervisor’s email address for verification. 

- The candidate must have a grade point average of 80 or higher.      

- Student and/or parent must have completed 8 hours of volunteer service for DPAC. 

- If you do not have the Required Hours please apply anyway! You will be able to make up the hours after the deadline

- Showing strong school and/or community involvement is helpful but not mandatory.    

- Candidate must submit a typewritten essay (300 – 500 words) on the following topic:

“What inspired you to pursue the arts and how will you incorporate the arts and what it has taught you into your career/future?”  DO NOT SIGN THE ESSAY. Essay must be uploaded in a DOC, DOCX, or PDF Format. DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME IN THE ESSAY OR IN THE FILE NAME.  IF YOUR NAME IS ON THE ESSAY YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. 

Selection Process:

The final selection will be made at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee whose decision is final.     

The scholarship check will be paid directly to the award recipient subject to proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university. Proof of enrollment must include student’s name and name of College or University. 

Please note that Sunday April 14, 2024 at 11:59pm EST is the final cutoff date for all submissions. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered. All submissions must be made through deerparkartscouncil.org/scholarships     

The Deer Park Arts Council has opened scholarships for the following categories: Fine Arts, Chorus, Band, Orchestra, and Theater.
