Play a song in whatever music app you use and use the volume control button to turn the music up all the way. Should fix the issue with alert sounds. This usually works for me for some reason, idk why!

hi, i just had a genius bar appointment at regent street london today ay 13.40 , i have complained about low sound notifications and lock sound,i had all the settings correct including attention aware feature off. they have run diagnostic and sound check,everything is perfect according to apple tech. so the problem is not the phone or the hardware, issue behind the problem is software,they are hoping there will be a software update for apple 11-12 and 13, apple tech also reported my complaint to head office i have also mentioned there are thousands of us complaining on discussion group and also all over the internet sites, hope this will help

Since purchasing the iPhone 13 Pro Max, I can't hear any notifications and I miss calls all the time. I always thought it was because I put the phone on silent at times, but started noticing this the last few days when I had all the volumes up and ringers on. We need a fix to this asap. This fix should be expedited, especially for a device that costs $1k+.

Just upgraded from an iPhone X to an iPhone 13 Pro Max and the low sound for the lock is ridiculous. Even the sounds for typing on the keyboard as I type this weirdly jump up and down in volume. Settings are all correct and making changes, restarting the phone etc etc do not address the issue.

I have developed an application which starts a custom service that fires a countdowntimer. The service runs a notification on the start of the timer and other on the finish.During tests I am seeing a problem about the notification and the lock screen. I describe the tests I have done:

1) If I run the application and dont let the phone going off or locked, the service plays notification sound correctly, as if the main application (activity) is in front as not. In both situations the service fires notifications perfectly.

3) Here is my problem: if I lock the phone and the application was not in front before lock, the notification does not sound, but the service looks like is running, because when I press the "on" button in my phone, then inmediatly after screen turn on, it plays the notification (sound and icon), just in the lock screen before I can unlock the phone.

And the Context will stay the same regardless of the phone being awake or asleep. The context is based on the running process/class/block of code it's in. If the context were causing a problem, I would expect it to throw an exception and force close.

I've had an issue where when my phone is locked screen, the phone does not play a sound or display a banner when a message is received. The phone is NOT in do-not-disturb/silent mode, nor is are the contacts set to do-not-disturb. the notifications for messages are turned on default sound, and the vibrate is turned on for messages as well. The phone receives notifications and banners normally when the screen is unlocked, but if the phone screen is locked it does nothing when a message is received. (the phone receives phone calls no problem when the screen is locked. I've tried for over a year to get the messages to work. I have been on an iPhone XS Max on ATT for the last couple of years. This week I switched to TMobile and bought a new iPhone 14 Plus. Excited to have my text notifications back after a few years of not having them... and sadly, i still do not get notifications when a message is received and the screen is locked.

Once you are in the notification area, which a can be done from many areas, simply go through each of the notification options and make sure the option is turned on and the settings are as how you would like.

The primary notification category will be WyzeMessage. you will see up to 4 of them, depending on how many sounds you tried. Basically each one corresponds to one of the notification sounds including the default. I have mine set the following way:

Note: If you tap on the Sound entry, you will be able to select from a list of sounds provided by your Google Device. If you opt to do this, I would only do this on the one which says Default Notification Sound as this will be Android Provided.

We are new to ring and are experiencing and issue where the selected ring adio tones only work with the iPhone is unlocked. When locked, only badges appear on phone. I have been through the settings extensively and cannot think of any thing that would be causing the issue. All other apps send audio tones when phone is locked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @dwestfall102. Could you try removing the Ring app, rebooting your phone, and then reinstalling the app? From there go into the Main Menu > Devices > Ring Video Doorbell 2 > Device Settings > Alert Settings > and then make the alert tone assigned to what sound you want from the app, as well as the volume it should play at. Please ensure your phone is not on mute, silent, or on DnD. Once you have adjusted the settings, lock your phone and ensure you get the sound notification after dinging your Doorbell.

Thanks for the update @dwestfall102! If the Ring app is not audibly alerting on any of the mobile devices, please remove and reinstall the Ring app, accept permissions, and also check for silent or do not disturb mode settings. Please also ensure there is not a VPN enabled or any similar apps on your Iphones that might conflict with notifications.

@Marley_Ring, thanks for responding. I have completed the suggested steps with out any luck. It does seem odd that this is occuring on any iOS device the app is installed on within our household. Are there any other iOS users experiencing this issue? As stated before, if the device is unlocked, the audio alerts work as intended. A new discovery is that when connected to blue tooth audio, the alerts work when the device is locked and playing music from another application.

I just had the exact same problem and it is the iWatch causing the issue. Now I only get notifications on my iPhone but cannot on my iWatch which is a shame. Can this be resolved? Would be great to have both notifications on both devices.

Thanks, I had the same issue. It was the iwatch notifications stopping the phone. The problem was the iwatch notification was just as generic as a text message notification so got ignored. I have now disabled iwatch notifications so that I can get notifications on my phone. Ring, please resolve this issue to allow notifications to come through on both iwatch and iPhone together

Most notification settings can be customized for each app. You can turn app notifications on or off, have notifications play a sound, choose how and where you want app notifications to appear when your device is unlocked, and more.

If you receive multiple notifications from an app, they're bundled together. Swipe down to view more details. Conversation notifications are bundled together at the top of your other notifications so you can easily return to them any time.

Some important notifications pop up briefly over your current app so that you can take action. For example, a notification for an incoming call might appear while you're watching a video, so that you can answer or dismiss the call.

If an app icon has a notification dot, you can touch & hold it to see the most recent notification:

Restart the phone to apply the new settings.

You won't see the icon in the status bar for any silent notifications. When you swipe the status bar down, the icon appears in the pull-down along with the notification.

Tip: In phone Settings, you can only hide status bar icons for all apps. If you want to hide status bar icons for a single app, open the app and look in its settings. Only some apps let you do this.

I am using the mobile app with Lock Manager for a Schlage lock on an iPhone XR. I recently realized that the Push Notifications were not longer working. I went through the posts here and removed my Contact Book and all the related instructions but that did not change anything. Any suggestions on how to get this working again?

Thank you for your quick reply and suggestions. I checked in the Recently tab and do not see unlock events popping up, so that may be the problem. The repeater is close to the lock, but so is the hub (one floor below). I tried spacing them as far as I can (given the hub is wired currently to the router), rebooting and doing a repair, but still no luck.

Ok. Still not working. No events coming back from the lock in the app. More detail about the layout

The lock and the outlet are about the same distance from the hub, about 20-30 feet. But close (6-7 feet) from each other. The outlet is visible on the hub and can be turned on/off. When manually changing the I have a Z-Wave switch and an outlet (1 foot from each other) between the outlet close to the lock and the hub.

Unfortunately I am not near my lock anymore to enter the keypad code and it may be a couple weeks until I will be there again. This is all the more reason I am hoping to get the unlock notifications to work - so I get notified when someone uses their designated keypad code.
