CONCERTO COMPETITION WINNERS

"On Saturday, April 26, 2019, Fredonia’s prestigious Concerto Competition was held in King Concert Hall, with 12 finalists competing over several hours. Two winners were selected from among the finalists: Matt Caputy and Steven Jay McChesney. Each is a student in the piano studio of Eliran Avni.. They will have the honor of performing in a concerto with one of the School of Music’s large ensembles in 2019-2020. Congratulations to the concerto winners and to Prof. Avni!" -June Miller-Spann

Both Steven Jay McChesney and Matt Caputy won the concerto competition in 2019 performing Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto and Rachmaninoff's First Piano Concerto respectively.

Grace Jang won the concerto competition in 2018 performing the first movement of Schumann's Piano Concerto, Op. 54
