"On Saturday, April 26, 2019, Fredonia’s prestigious Concerto Competition was held in King Concert Hall, with 12 finalists competing over several hours. Two winners were selected from among the finalists: Matt Caputy and Steven Jay McChesney. Each is a student in the piano studio of Eliran Avni.. Both Steven Jay McChesney and Matt Caputy won the concerto competition in 2019 performing Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto and Rachmaninoff's First Piano Concerto respectively.
Grace Jang won the concerto competition in 2018 performing the first movement of Schumann's Piano Concerto, Op. 54
