Book Covers

When I read a book an exercise I like to do is to redesign the book cover. I do these designs digitally specifically so that I can use the programs on my computer and stay familiar with them.

The Host

I thought that the desert in the story was important since it was there for the entire story. I thought I'd use it to show the good and bad things that happen.

Eragon

I didn't want to just put an egg or a single thing on this design so i tried to combine a couple things. I did the egg and the dragon. This design also allows for use on the other covers to make a complementary design.

Eldest

I used a similar design as with the Eragon book but I also didn't want it to be cut and paste. I changed the dragon a bit and tried to make it look more agressive.

Nausicaa

This image combines two important parts of Miyazaki's Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. The creature behind the main heroine is called an Ohmn and they play a important part of the story.

Princess Mononoke

This design was originally for a tattoo, unfortunately it wasn't carried out well. So This image of San, Moro, and the Spirit of the forest deserved a place to be seen in its fullness.

The two heros in this film are such loveable characters thas they were easy to put here. the necklace behind them shows the sky that is full of stars.
