About Dorky Me

My name is Anna Magby, I am a huge dork... obviously. Anyway, I've been making artwork and have loved it ever since I can remember.  Before my discovery of Manga and comics I lived and breathed everything horse.  They were my world; after years of that I discovered manga and anime. This stuck with me no matter how hard I tried to shake it so I embraced it.

After High School I enlisted as a medic with the intent of going to medical school. Well that didn't happen. Instead I kept somehow coming back to making artwork and wanting to create something. 

I went to school and got an Associates of Art from Blinn College in 2017.  Later got my Bachelors from Texas A&M in 2021. While in school I took a course from a visitng professor on writing and drawing comics. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. Once I graduated  I was trying to find a way to use this love of comics. But I also loved reading; so I combined the two. I started painting and drawing scenes from the books I read, made them into single page art pieces. It has been a blast to share my favorite parts of the books I read. I also redesign the book covers just for fun.  

Along with this dorkiness I started to figure draw with a local group of artists. I rediscovered my love of figure drawing. I had a friend approach me and asked if I would draw them; they wanted to pay respect to their body as they were about to have a life changing procedure; and I did. It was a wonderful experience for both of us; I want to be able to do this for more people. I thought it was a beautiful way to honor themselves.

So here I am today married to a way to patient with me man, two way to smart for me boys, and one crazy dog.
