I entered the world of "well bred dogs" in 2016. I was mainly working with horses and had a few of my own, so I needed something hardy and active and good with livestock. I had rescued a cattle dog mix in 2011 and fell in love with the breed, and after years of working with pet owners with limited knowledge and no support system, and dogs with poor genetics leading to health and behavior problems, I knew there had to be a better way. I purchased my first purebred Australian Cattle Dog and never looked back! Now nine years old, that dog was my first Champion, my first Grand Champion, my first sport dog, and many many more. We trialed or trained in obedience, rally, dock diving, agility, barnhunt, fastcats, and herding. He has sired three beautiful litters including one just last summer in July of 2024 and has multiple Grand Champion offspring, multiple more major pointed towards their championships, and even more highly successful in sport and working venues as well. In 2018 my breed mentor arranged for me to get a beautiful health tested Grand Champion girl after her breeder passed away suddenly. I bred her to the top dog in the country, whelped two girls who grew to be AOM and BOSS winning Grand Champions themselves, and the rest is history!
Australian Cattle Dogs are not a breed for everyone. Please don't be fooled by cute reels and TV shows, they are a tenacious and active working breed and require extensive training, structure, and exercise. They are protective, impulsive, and way more intelligent than the average human. If you gain their trust and respect you will have a loyal friend for life, but if you screw it up they never forget. They tend to act first and think never, or come to logical conclusions that are entirely incorrect. Being a few steps ahead can be a challenge but is necessary with a breed created to nip first and ask questions later. They excel at most sports, and can do pretty much anything you're willing to put the time in for, but you will definitely have to put the work in.
Cattle Dogs are prone to quite a few genetic conditions and must be carefully screened before being bred. Our breed club asks for hips, elbows, eyes, hearing, and a genetic panel. There are a few other optional tests as well for conditions that are less common but can still pop up. It is every breeder's responsibility to ensure they are making educated decisions and only breeding healthy and sound dogs that are less likely to pass on pain and discomfort to the next generation.
.Personal Policies and FAQs:
My dogs are currently priced at $3000. I take a limited number of deposits, which are transferable but not refundable.
I do not allow prospective owners to choose their own puppy. Pups are matched with the home that is best suited for them. I do take personal preferences into consideration, but the right drive and temperament for you is much more important than the right face markings or cuteness appeal. Puppies begin to be matched with their new homes around 6-8 weeks after all puppy evaluations are complete, and generally go home from 8-10 weeks.
I do not dock tails or remove dew claws. I breed for the standard, striving with each litter to preserve the breed as it was intended while creating the best possible structure, health, and temperament possible.
I coown each dog that I produce. I stay on the microchip and registration papers of my puppies for life to help ensure they come back to me if anything happens to you. I do not sell "breeding rights" .
All dogs come started on potty training, basic manners, crate training, bite inhibition, leash training, and much more, with a lifetime of training support from me, a certified trainer for over a decade.
All of my breeding dogs have had hips, elbows, and spines checked, are BAER tested full, and have full dentition with correct bites, normal patellas, and are unaffected by genetic diseases. Outside dogs I use in my program are also fully tested with passing results. The majority of these can be seen on the OFA website, individual xrays and any unposted results are available and can be provided at the request of serious parties.
I occasionally have older pups that I decided not to move forward with offered for sale, or adult dogs looking for retirement homes. If you are looking to add to your family but want to skip the puppy phase, reach out about availability!
I have a litter of nine born in August of 2025. I do not currently have any other plans for this year.
