Welcome to the Important Rooms page. it's recommended that you first go over the Game Mechanics page and the Important Entities page before coming here. If you've gone over those, then let's move on. I recommended skimming over the first 7 rooms and actually reading the 8th and 9th rooms is detail since those rooms are the most difficult to get past. I haven't put all the unique rooms on this page, however since my purpose is to get you through Floor 1 the conventional way, the other rooms are irrelevant.

The hallway room is a long and narrow path for players to go through. Monsters such as Eyes, Screech, Rush, Ambush, and especially Seek can spawn here. The hallway room is mostly known for spawning Seek. Remember the hallway room won't always spawn Seek but Seek for sure will always spawn in the hallway room. The biggest indicator that Seek will spawn in this particular room is if eyes have appeared on the wall in the previous rooms. This hallway room will be devoid of eyes after and will spawn Seek. For Seek to spawn, the player must go to the very end of the room just before opening the door, when a game scenario will begin to play as Seek rises from the ground. All sorts of loot can be found here including coins and occasionally items. It's usually a safe zone for most players IF Seek is about to spawn, but don't let the lull of a safe zone take away from the fact that monsters can and DO spawn here.

Personally, I'm always excited when I see this room. As you look at the image on the right, you can see there is a sort of drawer by the windows. Within that drawer, gold is guaranteed, and even more important an item will ALWAYS be placed on the top drawer. This is basically a nice treasure room with a nice aesthetic. Almost makes you never want to leave. The room is always designed the same so it's hard to miss. Most usually you'll be looking for a key for a lock on the main door to progress within the game but if you started with no items, this is a great way to get a light source, maybe a buff from vitamins, and some extra coins to use later in Jeff's shop. Some rare items can spawn such as the crucifix and the skeleton key but you'd be extremely lucky for this to happen. Tl:Dr don't skip this precious room.

This is the puzzle room. It's a simple puzzle. There are 4 shapes. A square, a horizontal rectangle, a vertical rectangle, and an oval. Each painting will be one of these shapes and you just have to place the paintings in the correct spot which is highlighted in a blue light. After you put the paintings in the right spot the fireplace will move down to open a secret entrance. You'll know you did the puzzle right when a nice little "Ding!" sound plays. Most usually coins will spawn in this room and rarely an item. It's a nice overall room, with a decent safety rate because there is always a closet inside. Rush, ambush, screech, and eyes can still spawn here but if you remember to use the tips from the Important Entities page it won't be a problem.

This is the basement room. Whenever you come upon this area, usually there is a gate that blocks the main door. In order to open the gate, a lever must be pulled. This lever is unfortunately located in a basement. So you have to take one of the side doors, without the numbers (you'd know what it looks like if you paid attention to the different doors in Game Mechanics.) For the first basement room that appears the lever can appear in 3 different sections of the basement. Right next to the basement door to the left, one right next to the vent, and another past the vent. To be clear there are TWO basement rooms guaranteed to appear in Doors BUT 3 or more can appear. One or more before door 50 and another after door 50. The one after door 50 is way more difficult than the first basement room you will come across. It is dark with two different sections, connected by a singular vent. It's recommended you have a light source with you and occasionally flash a light to see where you are and also to not run out of fuel. The lever can honestly be anywhere for the second basement room. If you don't want to waste fuel for your light source, it is okay to wait because eventually Guiding Light will light up the lever for you. Another particular fact is that Rush and Ambush cannot get you while you are in the basement level, however, Eyes and Screech can still attack. Screech in particular is quite deadly here so watch out for that little "Psst."

This is door 52. Door 52 is "like" a nice special safe zone for players to rest at. It's also where Jeff's Shop resides along with El Goblino and Bob! El Goblino is a friendly red goblin with whom you can have a short conversation. Bob is well...just Bob. He's dead so he can't really speak. Jeff on the other hand is a monster trying to college so he's selling items he found throughout the hotel. These items can range anywhere from 100-500 coins. Remember when I told you the function of coins on the Game Mechanics page? Here is where they come into play. Jeff can sell you a wide variety of items but ALL of them are useful. He almost always sells a crucifix and skeleton key (the skeleton key is guaranteed) and will switch through vitamins, flashlights, lights, and lockpicks. You can hang out in this little area however much you want; however, Rush, Ambush, Screech, and Eyes can still attack you. During this time El Goblino will hide behind the crate and Jeff will close the shop. You can also fill Jeff's tip jar, and he will do a little happy dance for you. Other than this, you can move on.

This is the hospital room. It's another "kind of" safe zone, where you aren't entirely safe but it is rare that monsters will try to attack you. In my experience, out of the 110 times I've played this game, I've only ever been attacked once in this hospital room, so I hope that says something. The hospital room has loads and loads of hiding spots, particularly the beds, in which you can hide if you are in any imminent danger. But there are also many little treasure chests filled with coins for you to loot as well. If you have the skeleton key, you can open the skeleton door which hides the Herb of Virdis (Learn more in Game Mechanics) and more coins. This room is ideally a treasure room and a place where you can rest. The hospital room usually appears from door 60 to door 65, right before you face Halt. The skeleton door is quite hidden inside the hospital but it's not difficult to find. Just explore around and eventually, you'll find it. It's hard to miss because there is a giant skull etched on the door. If you don't have the skeleton key unfortunately you will not be able to open the skeleton door however you may still loot the treasure chests.

Let's talk about door 89. Unlike all the other doors, door 89 is outside. It's called the courtyard, and it's a momentary safe zone, as monsters rarely attack here. There are multiple things you can do here. You can prepare beforehand and strategize on what you will do throughout doors 90-100. You can also try to find the cellar covered in vines as seen on the left. In order to open this cellar you have to find the shears which can be found in a garden closet as seen on the left. The cellar is full of gold just waiting to be taken however it is also filled with Snares just waiting to sap your health. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled if you are going inside the cellar because you need your health to be at 100 when going into door 90. You can also admire the view of the courtyard. It is a beautiful area with a nice hedge garden to your left and a statue of an angel to the right. According to the Doors Wiki page, the word on the plaque by the statue's feet has been decoded as "Limbo."

This is door 50. Door 50 is a library room, where the main objective is to find the code to open door 51. How? There are several books (8 in total) within the library on shelves both on the mezzanine and ground level. The code is 5 numbers long however to find the 5th number all 8 books must be found. Each book gives you a particular shape that corresponds with a number. On the left side of the library on a desk, is a paper that tells you what each shape corresponds to. You must do this all while simultaneously Figure is running about. If you went through the Important Entities page, you would know how the Figure acts. The game also gives you two alarm clocks which make an extremely loud sound a couple of seconds after it is placed to help you distract the Figure. The first alarm clock is on the desk in door 49 and the other one is somewhere within the library. It is recommended you use one of the alarm clocks for door 50 and the other one for the electrical room. There are multiple closets within the library for you to hide and a particular safe spot that is right next to door 51. Don't hide in plain sight, often times Figure will sometimes deviate from its intended path because the game likes to play tricks on you. On a good note, there are no other monsters within this level except for the Figure but make sure you remember to CROUCH!!!

This is Door 100. The Electrical Room. This is most likely the hardest level you will face if you reach it. If you have a lockpick, you can open the door to the breaker room which is located right next to the big metal gate. The breaker room is showcased in the 2nd image to the right. If you do not have a lockpick, then it's fine but it'll be way harder to leave the Electrical Room. First and foremost, you will have to flip the big red lever. Unfortunately, that sets the Figure loose and now you'll have a monster chasing you. Hide in the nearest closet and wait for the Figure to leave before making your way to the stairs. Upstairs lies the Elevator which will be your escape from Floor 1 and downstairs is the rift in which you can put an item of your choice. To learn more, go to the Game Mechanics page.
Without the lockpick, there will be 3 things to do. First, find the key to the Breaker Room which can be anywhere within the Electrical Room. Then find all 10 breaker switches that have to be inserted into the Circuit Breaker which is located in the Breaker Room. After you have opened the door to the Breaker Room and have inserted all of the breaker switches, a cutscene will play out and you will have an infinite amount of time to play the Circuit Breaker puzzle minigame. I'll leave it to you to solve that minigame on your own because then I'd be spoiling everything.
After this, you must run upstairs, quickly to the elevator and this will end your adventure on Floor 1. Finding the breaker switches is probably the toughest part of the electrical room however remember that the Figure always follows a fixed path and if you make no noise, you'll be able to make it through. The breaker switches can be located upstairs, downstairs, and around the ground floor. There are sub rooms which you can enter to find the breaker switches however you need to remember that the Figure can also enter these rooms so make sure to hide behind a shelf. The breaker switches will make a gleaming noise and will glow with blue sparkles. Turning on the flashlight and lighter creates noise so it's best to do this in the dark. Use the closets, HIDE if the Figure gets too close, DON'T make any noise, and have fun!!!
