Hi there, welcome to game mechanics. These are things you should go over and try to remember. Note to self these mechanics aren't going to come to you in a day so practice a ton. There are multiple game mechanics in Doors. First and foremost, let's go over the game controls. I'll go over this for PC, laptops, PlayStation, Phones, and Xbox. Most of these game controls I know by heart so I don't really have to search for how the controls may work for a certain console. The game controls for Xbox however I got straight from doors-game.fandom.com or the Doors Wiki page. It is recommended you look at the game mechanics page before proceeding with the others.

MOBILE
To move, touch the left bottom corner of your screen. A small black circle will appear. Move your finger towards where you want to move and on the right side of the screen, move your other finger to look around. To interact with any object a button with a hand will appear (you will see what it looks like below) and just click it to collect or interact with an object. The crouch button will be permanently etched on the screen so the player can crouch at any time.
Now that we're done with controls let's go over certain "actions" you can do within the game. The current actions I give to you below are the actions I consider most important. Of course, there are more actions such as crouching and dropping items; however, they are already stated for you within the game controls. The ones I give you below are a teeny bit more complex so let's go over them.
Hiding is something you will have do within the game whether you want to or not. To survive monsters like Rush, Ambush, and the Figure you WILL have to hide as most of the time there isn't a crucifix lying around. This goes especially for Rush whose appearance is the most common in the game. There are multiple places you can hide in. First and foremost, the most common hiding place is the closets. You'll see a closet in almost every room, so it isn't that hard to hide. Next are beds. They appear from time to time and aren't hard to miss. The next place you can hide in are the wooden cabinets that are only available from doors 89-100.

To loot or interact with an item or object is one of the most important actions you can do within the game. All of this is accomplished by holding E or pressing E on your keyboard, square on PlayStation, X on Xbox, or tapping the hand icon on mobile. By interacting with an object you can open doors, look at paintings, hide, play with the bell or typewriter, pick up useful items, switch levers, and collect coins. In dark rooms where it's almost impossible to see, try to keep an eye out for the hand icon to see whether or not you can collect an object. In Doors, you will have to interact with many, many objects to get to the end. There is no avoiding this action. Sometimes this will not appear as a hand but maybe as a couple of coins stacked upon each other as seen on the right or as an eye interacting with a painting. Most usually however the icon remains the same pointed hand.

RIFT

The image to the left is a rift. Rifts are a way to make life easier for you. Any item can be stored within a rift for you to use later in your next run. To use a rift, you unfortunately have to make it all the way to Door 100, the electrical room. Going past the Figure, you have to make your way downstairs. After that it's pretty much hard to miss. It glows bright blue and envelops the entire room in this light and also sounds like a loud generator. After storing the item of your choice, it will appear in the lobby section next to the key for Door 1. The recommended item of choice to put in the rift is for sure the lockpick. The lockpick is needed to open the door to the electrical box and it saves you the time to look for the key. If not the lockpick then either a light source or a crucifix to distract the Figure for a few seconds. This is a function in the game that I really recommend beginner players to use.
You should also be aware of a couple of other things, such as your health bar, the number of coins and doorknobs you have, and the number of revives you can use. These are essentials to remember so make sure to keep track of these as you progress through the game.

On the top-right corner, you can view the amount of revives, coins, and knobs you have. Revives do what they are named after. They revive you and you can play once more after you have died. They can be gained by paying 30 robux for one or participating in, in-game events to earn them. Either way, when you first start playing Doors you get one free revive for free. You can choose to save your revive or use it. I recommend you use your revive if you die in doors 90 through 100. Let's move on to coins. They help you buy things from Jeff's shop that may help you out later and can be converted to knobs if you die or finish Floor 1. Knobs help you buy items pregame like 2 lockpicks, 3 vitamin bottles, a flashlight, and a lighter. In the bottom left corner, you can briefly see your health bar.
Your health bar is a nice tracker to see how far you are from dying. Some monsters don't kill you instantly so it's best to know when you are at low health to become more cautious. It is usually located on the bottom left of your screen.
There are also status effects that you should be aware of. In my own words, status effects are boosts, buffs, or debuffs that can give you advantages or disadvantages. These are the most known status effects are going to be the ones that will help you out the most.

The first status effect that's the most important is Death. You know you died when the skull (on the right) shows up. This means your health bar has reached zero. After you have died, your dead body lays on the floor. If you have any items in your inventory, those items will drop on the floor. Your teammates (if you decide not to go alone) can pick up those items and complete the rest of the walkthrough. Death isn't the end though and after you can choose to spectate other players or revive.

The plant to the left is called the Herb of Virdis. When you hold E, the message "Your heart beats stronger than before..." manifests in front of you. Once you do this, a permanent leaf appears in the bottom-left corner of your screen. According to the Doors Wiki page, the herb gives 5 points to your health for every door you open. This is extremely helpful especially if you have taken damage from Eyes, Screech, and Dupe over the course of your run. It is especially essential against Doors 90-100 since you will be up against five entities all at once. Losing health is inevitable but the Herb will keep you alive. This is the only way you can heal yourself up other than using bandages which may or may not appear. The Herb of Virdis is behind the skeleton door inside the hospital which must be opened by the Skeleton Key. It is recommended throughout every run to grab the Skeleton Key and grab the status effect from the Herb as it can traverse to Floor 2 and the Rooms.

The speed effect is an incredible effect to have. So far in the game there is no permanent speed buff, however, you can gain a temporary speed buff lasting a couple of seconds. The purpose of this effect is to get through the doors faster. There are other scenarios in which you may need this effect. For example, escaping Rush and quickly hiding in a closet, or escaping the Figure in the library or the electrical room. Either way, a speed boost doesn't harm you. The vitamins are the only way to get a speed boost so far excluding all special events and modifiers. The icon on the left (ignore the avatar crouching) will inform you that the speed buff is currently active. Once it disappears, the speed buff has faded away.
There are also different types of doors within the game. Keeping them in mind can help you find treasures and also avoid wasting time. There are other doors namely the skeleton door and the gated doors of doors 90-100. The skeleton door is talked about on the "Important Rooms" page. Doors 90-100 are gated. They aren't special so no need to delve that deep into them.
There are multiple types of doors within Doors (hah). The ones with numbers atop are the main doors to progress within the game. They range from the number 1 to 100. Doors without numbers but with handles may hide side rooms with treasure chests, drawers, closets, or whole rooms with beds and closets. Doors without numbers and handles are areas you cannot go to no matter what, so ignore them. Doors with locks need keys to progress so you'll have to find a key that can be hidden anywhere in the room. There is the skeleton door which can only be opened by the Skeleton Key for treasures and the Herb of Virdis. There are also gated doors which can only be found through Doors 90-100.
