Homunculis - An artificial body, typically made of materials such as clay or plant matter, that houses a disembodied soul.
Obyrith - a race of Abyssal entity that is so ancient it predates all mortal life, even the Gods. They are the oldest known entities in all of time, leading to speculation that Obyriths played a role in the creation of the Gods, and possibly the Realms themselves. They rarely have a humanoid shape, and some say that just looking at an obyrith could drive a mortal insane.
Primordials - When a realm is first created, primordials rise from the swirling energies that the realms themselves are made of. In terms of raw power the average primordial is stronger than most gods; although most primoridals are seriously lacking in imagination or ambition. Most are content to simply consume.
By default, they are the oldest race of creature in any given realms; although in most realms they are now extinct.
Aspect - A portion of a God's soul, separated from the God and brought to life on the Material Plane. Typically represents the God's interests but is actually it's own distinct personality. Aspects are generally used to accumulate fervor and influence on the God's behalf, but they are often unreliable for complex or specific tasks.
Avatar - A human host inhabited by a God when they wish to personally, directly visit the Material Plane.
Portfolio - A God's power set and area of influence. For example, Gond's portfolio includes invention and ingenuity. It can be strengthened, weakened or stolen by various means. Most evil Gods are constantly plotting ways to expand their portfolios.
The Material Plane - The physical universe and the planets within. It is composed of matter and generally inhabited by mortals, although there are exceptions to the latter such as The Feywild.
Inhabitants of other planes generally consider it to be either an unclean, inferior mudball or a paradise where sensations such as loving or killing can be experienced to the fullest
The Outer Planes - The oldest plane of reality. Rather than occupying space and having physical form, everything in these planes exist in a spiritual form that mortals are not capable of observing or understanding.
The Outer Planes are where the Gods live, and is also the location of realms such as the Abyss, the Nine Hells, Limbo and Nirvana.
The Abyss - A realm formed from chaotic evil energy, the Abyss is the birthplace of all naturally born demons. It is composed of an infinite number of layers, most of which are loosely controlled by "Princes". In the Abyss, "Prince" is a self-declared title where one simply names oneself as the strongest and can be challenged at any time by combat. The abyss is often confused with the Infernal Realm (Hell), but they are actually hated enemies.
The Nine Hells - Also known as the Infernal Realm, this is the manifestation of lawful-evil energy. It is the natural home of devils and is the basis of the Christian concept of Hell. It is defined by it's tyrannical leadership, which is maintained entirely through threat of pain.
