Feeding a high quality species appropriate diet is the foundation for a dog’s good health.
A whole food balanced diet with human grade meat that is free range and/or grass fed is best for optimal health. Diets should be high protein and high moisture. (The exact opposite of all kibble.)
Raw is better than cooked in most cases. Homemade is good because you can control every ingredient but it must be carefully BALANCED. So if you are unsure, then research how to do it right or buy an already balanced high quality commercial raw dog food product.
Our favorite commercial raw dog food is K9 Premium Blend from The Real Meal Pet Food Company because it combines a variety of grass fed, pastured or wild caught protein sources and is appropriate for all stages of life.
In order to provide diverse amino acid profiles , we also rotate feeding with Raw Dynamic Duck, Lamp, Rabbit and Turkey formulas which made from organic pastured sources.
Dr. Judy Morgan's book Yin & Yang Nutrition for Dogs can help you ensure that your dog's meals are BALANCED if you decide to make them yourself.
Dr. Becker's video to the right is helpful for understanding what type of food a dog requires.
Raw Goat Milk and Raw Goat Kefir
We supplement our puppies meals with Raw Goat Milk and Raw Goat Kefir. Raw Goat Milk contains antihistamines, several different species of probiotics and Immunoglobulins(Antibodies).
The farm that we order Raw Goat Milk and Kefir from has a drop location in Towson, MD off of Malvern Avenue every other Wednesday. We would be happy to provide their contact information.

Dog Training Treats
We prefer to use Ziwi Peak air dried complete meals for dog treats. They are by far the most convenient and portable option. We know that our puppies are still eating a balanced raw diet even when we are using lots of training treats. They have several flavors to choose from. We use the Lamb and Tripe one because our regular raw meals do not contain tripe.
Other treat options we have used in moderation that our pups go crazy for are:
Spoon fed Raw Organic Grass Fed Ground Beef mixed with Raw Organic Free Range Egg Yolk
Spoon fed Organic Cream Cheese
Tiny cut pieces of Rotisserie Chicken - a rare cooked meat treat that's easy to bring along!!!
Tiny cut pieces of Organic Grassfed Hot Dogs
Pure Water
We are fortunate to have access to pure natural water from an aquifer on our property. Our water contains no chlorine or fluoride. Dogs should be given filtered or distilled water if you only have access to treated water.
Raw Bones
Bones are a natural part of a dog’s biological requirement and contain nutrients that can help boost dog's health. But one must proceed with caution. It is important to educate oneself on how to feed raw bones to your dog safely. Never feed cooked bones. Please watch these two videos on how to feed raw bones safely.
