NECAT is a 14- week culinary arts training program offered at one of three Boston area locations: the Boston Training Center, Suffolk County House of Correction, and the East Boston YMCA. It provides culinary competency training in addition to supportive services like housing and employment post-training.
The Salvation Army's Culinary Arts Training Program is a nationally recognized 10-week course that provides students from the Dorchester/Roxbury community with a solid foundation in culinary techniques. Our program combines expert instruction, real-world kitchen experience, and personalized mentorship to help you master the art of cooking and food preparation. From mastering knife skills to learning advanced cooking techniques, you'll gain expertise in both traditional and contemporary culinary styles. Tuition is free, but there is a small fee for course materials.
