Re-entry Programs across USA

A New Way of Life - A New Way of Life Reentry Project promotes healing, power, and opportunity for formerly incarcerated people.  Their services include housing, legal, advocacy and leadership, and family reunification assistance.  They are located in California.  

Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) - CEO is a national organization with branches in 12 states.  CEO provides immediate employment, skills training, and ongoing career support to those returning from prison.  

ConBody - ConBody is a fitness program based in New York City.  It was founded by and employs formerly incarcerated individuals.

Dave's Killer Bread - Dave's Killer Bread was a small family run bakery in Portland, Oregon that has since expanded across the USA and Canada.  One of its original bakers was formerly incarcerated.  DKB now provides information on Second Chance Employment and why businesses should hire formerly convicted persons through its DKB Foundation.

Defy Ventures - Defy Ventures is an entrepreneurial program designed to support formerly incarcerated individuals realize their business plans.  The program originated in New York but has now branched out across the country to include Washington, California, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Connecticut. 

Down North Pizza - Down North Pizza is a pizza shop in North Philadelphia (PA) owned and staffed by formerly incarcerated persons.  The program is more than a business with a mission to help returning citizens acclimate to society and not return to prison.  

Formerly Incarcerated College Graduates Network - Formerly Incarcerated College Graduates Network (FICGN) is a North Carolina based organization whose mission is to promote the education and empowerment of formerly incarcerated people through collective community.

FreeWorld - FreeWorld is a business started by a formerly incarcerated person.  FreeWorld offers accepted applicants training to become a truck driver and job placement upon training and licensing completion.  Programs are currently in Texas and California with plans to expand to other states.

Getting Out Staying Out - This New York City based program offers individuals a number of programs and assistance with re-entry into the community.  

Hudson Link for Higher Education - Hudson Link is a New York based organization that provides college education, life skills, and re-entry support to currently and formerly incarcerated people.  

Reentry Campus Program - This Rhode Island based program makes post-secondary education accessible, affordable, and efficient with their pre-assessment and advising.  They work with both individuals who were enrolled in college programming while incarcerated and those with no college experience but are interested in pursuing post-secondary studies.

Second Chance Renovations - Second Chance Renovations is a construction company in Illinois founded by a formerly incarcerated person and provides employment opportunities to those impacted by the criminal justice system.  

Tomorrow's Neighbors - Tomorrow's Neighbors is a Pennsylvania based non-profit whose vision is to significantly reduce recidivism in PA.  They offer an eight-step reentry program, provide mentoring, and participate in community service activities to connect people to their communities.  

Vericool - Vericool is a green company that specializes in ecofriendly packaging.  Founded by a formerly incarcerated individual, his multimillion dollar company provides second chance employment to justice involved men and women in California.
