Map of My Journey and a Conclusion

Even though Grandey is coming to an end, I plan to take the lessons and skills I learned in this class into the rest of my career. The guest speakers in class really impacted me because they showed me that my career is never set, and I will always have the opportunity to keep growing and have new experiences. For example, one of the speakers got a degree in physics, yet in a couple of years, she was working in policy. Another speaker, Doctor Saleh, talked about how he never exactly knew what his path was going to be, but he just went with the flow. Although I am majoring in Computer Science, I may be presented with the opportunity to pursue other interests, and the skills I learned in Grandey will help me excel in those areas.

Throughout the rest of my college years and career, I hope to continue growing in leadership, collaboration skills, and thinking from different perspectives. Since high school, I have been working on these skills, and I plan to continue growing through involvement in various organizations and trying out new experiences.

I still want to explore different cultures and look at things from various perspectives. I hope to do this by studying abroad and meeting new people. Everyone has so many fascinating stories that I enjoy listening to and can gain something from. Eventually, I hope that even I will have a really good story to tell as well. I have yet to settle on a path, but as I mentioned before, I would like to get involved in various opportunities, even if they are not directly related to computer science. I may want to work at a big company working on the newest technology, or I may want to go abroad for a little while and get involved in research opportunities. I have still yet to decide what my end goal is, but the lessons I have learned in Grandey have helped me realize the endless possibilities.
