Student Work Guidelines

Each teacher will post assignments and utilize projects and assessments to monitor student learning.

Expectations During Distance Learning

• Students will ensure they have their class codes and Zoom information.

• Students must be present and ready to begin "live" class online at 8:30am.

• Students must be dressed in their uniform top, unless it is a designated Spirit Day.

• Students and teachers will eat during breaks and designated lunch times.

• Students sit at a table or desk at home and their cameras "on" during the "live" classes.

• Teachers will teach from the school site whenever possible.

• Teachers will share a daily/weekly/monthly agenda

• There will be several live teaching sessions during the school day (according to the schedule) with scheduled breaks. These sessions will be recorded for students who are absent or who need to revisit the lesson.

• Students will be present for the "live" sessions and will be deemed absent if not in attendance.

• Students must turn in assignments on time following the procedure established by the teacher.

• Parents, students, and staff will sign a contract to ensure understanding of roles and responsibilities and commitment to support these expectations

• Teachers will hold "Office Hours" to answer questions for students and parents.

• "Pick-up Days" will be scheduled for families to pick up any items for learning at home.

• Remote Learning effectiveness will be assessed every 4 weeks by teachers and the administration

Attendance

• Students are expected to attend "live" classes daily and to be on time.

• Teachers will take attendance daily during "live" lessons.

• If students are marked "absent" the teacher will send an email to parents and copy the school office.

• Frequent unexcused absences will result in an Academic Improvement Plan to be put in place.

• If a student is unable to attend "live" lessons due to the absence of someone to supervise them, arrangements must be made for the student to watch the recorded lessons and to meet with the teacher during their Office Hours.

Tutoring via Zoom will be available at the following days and times with:

Tutoring is also available on an as needed basis if the above times do not fit family schedules.
