Social Emotional Learning

Teachers will provide a classroom environment that is supportive and builds connectedness and warm relationships. They will also remind students that if they are feeling uncomfortable (sad, lonely, afraid), their teacher and staff will be there to listen and to help.

Wellness Checks

  • Teachers will monitor and check in with students through weekly “wellness” surveys. These surveys will include a multiple choice question about how they are feeling. One of the choices will be, “I’m having a hard time and would like to check-in.” The survey will be completed on-line so that students can participate while Distance Learning. Based on student answers, teachers will assess needs. If necessary, a Student Success Team meeting will be scheduled with teacher(s), parents, student and administration to create a plan to address needs.

  • Teachers and/or staff will make monthly contact with parents to check in and offer support as needed or direct them to the support as appropriate.

Crisis Support

  • Information on crisis supports will be a regular part of the school weekly Ram-o-Gram. The parish has a food pantry as well as a Fifth Sunday fund that can help families who need the support.

  • The parish Minister for Pastoral and Social Services is available for crisis support and resources.
