The workshops are organized by session and category. If a workshop is offered more than once, it will be listed in each session it is offered. Workshops are listed in order by number.
Session 2: Troop Program
201 Gold Award for Leaders and Adults
A workshop for leaders to help prepare their troops to Go for the Gold. The Alameda Gold Award Committee will help guide you through the steps from brainstorming and discussing ideas with the girls, to preparing the paperwork and the application process, then how to work through the actual project to the final report. Plus time for discussions about any other questions that you may have!

202 American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED
Blended Learning Course
This blended learning course includes an online portion and a skills session. Once registered to attend you will be sent a link to complete the online portion (3-4 hours). The online MUST be completed prior to attending the skills sessions and you must show the instructor that you passed the online course. Upon completion of this skills session and the online GSNorCal First Aider course, you will be eligible to act as a Troop First Aider. Please dress in comfortable clothes as we will be practicing on the floor.

203 Planning & Funding Big Trips
Join Nanette to learn how she (and her co-leaders) helped their 20 Cadettes plan a 9 day trip that took them from Las Vegas to Bryce Canyon and the Narrows, to Disneyland. Nanette will share her girl-leadership strategy and how the girls raised $18k for their life-changing adventure. Note: this is not an extended trip and travel course.

204 Destinations - Where in the World Do You Want To Go? ⭐
Do your girls want a chance to go somewhere new, do something different and meet people from around the world? If so, Destinations is the way to go! Girl Scout Destinations are the ultimate adventures for girls ages 11 and older. Some trips repeat, some are new each year -- adventures for everyone. Learn about the travel opportunities and how to prepare. Discover where in the world Girl Scouts can take you.

206 Escape Rooms: A Puzzling Experience
Past escape room workshops have concentrated on setting up an in-person escape room and a virtual escape room. This workshop will focus on puzzle development. Participants will learn how to create puzzles and will develop some to test on each other. Workshop will begin with a short escape room experience.

207 Action Packed Games
Participate as you learn a variety of ice breakers, get to know you, and team building games. Be prepared to interact for the whole workshop. There is always time for a GAME. An updated booklet style handbook will be provided to every participant that provides the details for all games.

208 Coding Unplugged
Teach your girls about coding without computers. Learn hands-on unplugged activities to teach them how to write algorithms that follow a sequence, how to use loops, events, and conditionals.

Session 2: Outdoor
212 Pie Iron Cooking for Older Girls
Pie irons are a fun outdoor cooking tool for older girls to make delicious meals, desserts, and snacks. Because these make individual servings, they can be a great option for troops right now. In this workshop, we will go over the basics of how to cook with Pie Irons, safety considerations, how to clean and care for cast iron, as well as specific AMAZING recipes for pie iron pizza, quesadillas, cornbread, or cinnamon pull-apart bread.

213 Taking Your Troop Backpacking
Start early to get your troop ready for an empowering adventure. Learn about steps to backpacking skills, assembling gear without breaking the bank, and great places to go.
This will be an overview, with some suggested and vetted resources. Come join the fun!
This does not substitute for the backpacking training course.

214 Inter/Adv Lanyard Making
If you have mastered the box stitch and would like to learn more complex designs, join us! We will cover the quad stitch / tornado; brick stitch / corkscrew and rocket ship!

This is an opportunity to learn a great fairy program appropriate for all ages. We will cover fairy gardens, houses, a tote bag and more.

216 Gnomes Are Where The Hearts Are
Gnomes are mischievous little things that are responsible for the protection and welfare of the home, and they're not just for the winter holidays. Learn how to make gnomes for every season. This is a great troop craft using hand sewing and basic embroidery. Gnomes make great decorations, gifts or even items to sell at fundraisers.

This beautiful art has been handed down through generations of Ukrainians for more than 2,000 years! Come learn all the techniques to create your own pysanky egg.

218 Origami Fun
Never tried the art of Origami? Come try it. We will start with simple projects like hats and progress to more challenging ones like cranes. We will make hats, boxes, and animals to name a few projects. Girls love this and it can be used to meet the criteria of some badges.

Let your message be seen in your posters and banners. Create a great poster! Create some elements of a great felt banner. Tips on how to make displays for banners. Finally, practice some fun lettering styles (for smaller projects.)

225 Free Time
Take a session of free time! Visit the council shop on-site, find a table and meet with your friends. Check your social media feed (don't forget to #discoveree2022). This is your time to relax and rejuvenate. Register for this workshop if you do not wish to register for any other workshops this session.
