According to Dictionary.com, Netiquette can be defined as ... "the rules of etiquette that apply when communicating over computer networks, especially the Internet."
With most communication on the internet being non verbal, there is a higher risk of statements made in discussion boards, e-mails, or social networking sites to be misconstrued. As a result of this, users must use netiquette to ensure that what they are saying in interpreted correctly.
According to the following article, Netiquette is what causes to group conversations to remain friendly and helps to maintain healthy personal and business relationships.
Discussion boards are just one example of places online where Netiquette is necessary. Without netiquette, a discussion board can quickly become a place of conflict rather than accomplishing its goal.
Knowing the rules of netiquette are now an important skill for people of all ages. Watch below as the 4th grade students of Rose Vine Public School share their own knowledge on what Netiquette is and give examples of ways to show good netiquette.
