Technology Rules for the Classroom

Teachers should have clear rules and expectations for technology use in his or her classroom. The following are examples of rules and expectations for internet use and use of other devices that may be used in a classroom.

Internet Use:

• Only teacher assigned activities are acceptable
• Misuse/abuse of internet access will result in suspension of access
• Inappropriate comments or messages will not be tolerated and will result in suspension of access

Computers (Laptops)

• Use two hands when transporting
• Ensure that the laptop is charging when not in use
• Drinks and food are not permitted around laptop

Cell Phones/Cameras

• Cell phones may only be used on BYOD (bring your own device day)
• Cameras (weather stand alone or on cell phone) are not permitted in class unless otherwise stated by assignment
