Technology is on the rise all around us. Teachers are using it in the classroom to enhance learning. Not all students have access to technology at home. For this reason, it is vital that students have equitable digital access in the classroom.
1. Utilize the computer lab if available.
2. Have a schedule for teachers to sign up to use Chromebooks or iPads.
3.Rotate the labs through grade levels.
1. Partner students up if there isn't enough devices for everyone.
2. Implemented a BYOD policy.
3. Put devices at stations.
Digital literacy is a crucial skill in the world we live in. Unfortunately, not all schools have equal access. Many low income schools are already faced with budge cuts and often times their students do not have access to device to properly implement a BYOD policy. Schools can apply for grants or partner with local businesses to help purchase technology. Teachers can use organization grants such as Donors Choose in an effort to get the devices they need.
