Abstract: This document explores the integration of humanities and technology through the use of digital humanities technology to read the Gospel of Matthew. The study introduces digital humanities as a crucial approach in humanities and social studies research, involving the use of digital materials and information technology. A course titled "Introduction to Digital Humanities" was developed to enhance students' proficiency in digital humanities, using the Gospel of Matthew as a case study. The document discusses the use of various digital humanities techniques, including data analysis and data visualization, to gain a deeper understanding of the Gospel of Matthew. It also examines the changes in students' understanding of textual analysis and digital humanities before and after the course, based on personal meaning mapping and interview responses. The study concludes that students' cognitive and affective understanding, as well as their skills in digital humanities, significantly improved after completing the course, enabling them to apply digital humanities knowledge in both professional and everyday contexts, and enhancing their competitiveness in the current digital era.
