Virtual Ads in Live Shows
Virtual graphics are extensively used by TV Globo. An important application is in advertisement. For this reason, we improved the graphics with a physically based rendering approach. We captured ambient lighting using a Spheron camera and generated a HDR lighting map. This was important to have coherent reflections in metallic surfaces. We developed the shading inside the Unity3D PBR pipeline.
Other important features like real-time camera tracking were also handled. We integrated our system with major players in this domain around the market: Ncam, Stype, avid-orad.
