All Saints Vevey

Dumas circa 1972

A neo baroque 2 manual mechanical action (steel wires) instrument with pipes planted a third apart in four blocks. The positive organ is very cramped and almost impossible to tune. You have a choice of either seeing or tuning many of the pipes, but not both at the same time!

The frequent trains that pass only 5 metres away from the building seem to compromise the tuning stability of the chimney flutes. The heating and uninsulated windows produce currents of air that also have a negative effect on tuning.

Despite the chancel being carpeted, there is a relatively large tiled area at the front of the nave and there is no aisle carpet, so the sound has time to evolve.

Not my favourite organ to tune!
