I visited the access to the Logan River at Rendezvous Park in Logan, Utah. Observations were taken at 16:04.
The observed section of this river contained mainly cobbles on the banks with a small amount of boulders. Dead leaves were also seen on the banks from the trees towering above. There were two fallen trees in this part of the river where sediment was being caught. Water was also being diverted around these trees, however was seeping out through small sections of the fallen trees.
Faster moving water was observed to be towards river left in the eddy. This river is mainly bedded with cobbles and fine sediment/sand. Small riffles can be seen throughout this section of the channel. Based on flow observations, the cobbles on the bed of the river are not transporting, but the fine sediment/sand might be.
This section of the Logan River is very confined on river left and moderately confined on river right.
**Note: I know from a previous class that this section of the Logan River was restored for better recreational access and for a more sustainable place for fish to live.
