Project Description- I worked with a partner to compare how different countries use and access technology. We focused on everyday technology use, infrastructure, and digital challenges to see how technology impacts daily life in different parts of the world.
Locations Chosen- My partner focused on Jamaica, and I focused on Japan.
Interesting Fact- I learned is that Japan uses advanced assistive technology, like care robots, to support its aging population, while Jamaica relies more on mobile technology as the primary way people access the internet.
Lessons Learned- This project helped me realize how much technology is shaped by a country’s population, economy, and culture. While both countries use technology daily, they do so for very different reasons and in very different ways. I also learned that access to technology isn’t just about having the tools, but about who can actually use them comfortably. Working with my partner taught me how to divide tasks, communicate clearly, and combine our research into one presentation. We communicated through email and text. Overall, this project made me think more critically about the global digital divide.
