For Unit 1, I spent a lot of time learning new tech terms that I've definitely seen before but never really understood. I built my own glossary in my notes, which honestly helped way more than just memorizing definitions. Once I wrote things down, they actually started to stick.
Some of the terms surprised me, like realizing how much goes into something as simple as a URL or how files are organized behind the scenes. This section shows the glossary I created.
I learned that my computer is running an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U processor, which basically means it’s built to handle multitasking without immediately giving up on me. I also found out I have 16 GB of RAM, which explains why I can have multiple tabs, Brightspace, and random things open at once without my laptop crashing in protest.
As for storage, my computer has about 477 GB total, and I still have a good amount of space left. That helped me understand the difference between RAM and storage. One helps things run smoothly in the moment, and the other is where everything actually lives.
Overall, this made me realize that knowing your computer’s hardware isn’t just “tech stuff” it actually explains why your device performs the way it does.
