Skreela is a screenshot and screen-recording app for Android. Your captures are processed on your device. Skreela uses Google AdMob for banner ads and Google Firebase for usage analytics and crash reporting.
Screenshots, recordings, and sharing
Skreela does not upload your screenshots, screen recordings, microphone audio, or annotation text to the developer, AdMob, or Firebase. Screenshots and recordings are saved in your device's public media storage, under Pictures/Skreela and Movies/Skreela. App preferences are stored locally, and Firebase Analytics receives setting names and chosen values when you change preferences.
When you choose Share, Android sends the selected file to the app or recipient you choose. That app or service handles the shared copy under its own privacy practices. Other apps with appropriate media access may also access files in your public gallery.
Microphone audio is included only when you enable Record microphone and grant Android's microphone permission. It is recorded as part of your screen recording and saved in the video file on your device.
Advertising
Google AdMob may collect or receive advertising and other device identifiers, app and device information, ad interactions, diagnostics, and approximate location derived from an IP address. It uses this information to provide and measure ads and help prevent fraud.
Where Google requires a privacy choices form, Skreela presents it and provides Ad privacy choices in Settings so you can review or change those choices. You can also manage advertising settings through Android or your Google account. The availability and type of ads depend on Google's consent and ad-serving rules.
Analytics and crash reporting
Firebase Analytics collects app usage events, app-instance or device identifiers, coarse location derived from masked IP addresses, and standard app and device information. Events sent by Skreela describe capture requests, saves and failures, recording options, permission results, setting changes, screen views, sharing and deletion counts, and review prompts. Edited-image save events include the annotation count and whether the image was cropped. Some recording and quick-capture preferences are also recorded as Analytics user properties. These events do not include the content of your captures or annotation text. Analytics records are associated with identifiers; they are not limited to anonymous aggregate counts.
Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports, handled error reports, stack traces, app and device information, and installation identifiers to help diagnose failures and measure their impact. Skreela does not attach capture images, video, microphone audio, or annotation text to these reports.
Google processes advertising, analytics, and diagnostic data through its services. The app does not require an account and does not ask you to provide a name, email address, or other account details to use its capture features.
Storage, retention, and deletion
Captures remain in your device's public media storage until you delete them. You can manage them in Skreela or a gallery app. Where Android supports recoverable trash, an item may remain recoverable until it is permanently deleted by you or the system. Uninstalling Skreela does not necessarily delete files in public media storage. Copies shared with another app or recipient must be managed separately.
App settings are stored locally and excluded from Android backup. Clearing Skreela's app data or uninstalling the app removes those settings.
Google applies its product-specific retention and deletion controls to advertising, analytics, and crash data. Firebase documents that Crashlytics keeps crash data and related identifiers for 90 days before starting their removal from live and backup systems. Advertising and analytics retention depends on the applicable Google service and account configuration. Contact the developer below with questions or requests concerning data handling or deletion.
Permissions
Screen capture: Android asks for permission before Skreela starts a screen-capture session. The session supports screenshots and screen recordings until it ends.
Microphone: optional permission to include your voice or other microphone audio in a screen recording.
Storage on Android 8 and 9: Android's storage permission is needed to save captures in public media storage. Skreela's gallery queries its capture folders. Android 10 and newer do not require this legacy storage permission for the app's own new captures.
Display over other apps: lets Skreela display its floating capture button and capture feedback.
Foreground services, notifications, and vibration: keep capture and quick-access features running, show their status, and provide capture feedback.
Internet and network state: support AdMob ads, privacy-choice forms, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics. Google documents encrypted connections for data sent by its advertising and Firebase SDKs.
Skreela does not request contacts, camera, or device-location permission. Ad services may still infer approximate location from network information as described above.
Children
Skreela is not directed to children. Its capture features do not upload user-created content to the developer.
Changes
Updated versions of this policy are included in the app with a revised effective date.
