Throughout my life I have faced my fair share of obstacles and hardships. I came from a small conservative town where I was constantly reminded by educators, peers, and community members that I would simply be a statistic of another Black male who would end up in the system or worse... Dead. However, I always had at least one person through it all who saw the potential in me that I myself did not see at the moment. I now know the importance and the significance one individual may have in someones life.

I am to approach my why through staying true my Core Values. Throughout my four years at the University of Washington, I have built a strong network that I leverage for knowledge, guidance, and as a resource. By taking all the competencies I've learned in my leadership identities and many more, I am continuing to build upon my leadership attributes and am seeking the necessary experiences that will allow me to continue to grow not only as a leader, but as an individual overall.
