The Animation Process/Filming Day

The day of filming, we had a lot of details we had to iron out. Originally, the plan was to point the camera straight down in order to capture the photos for the animation. However, after meticulously setting the camera up far above our heads, we realized that not all of the items would fit in the frame! Changing plans, we took the camera down and decided on the set-up seen in the video. It took us hours to arrange the products just right, and even more time to move each thing ever-so-slightly for each frame/photo.

Being able to collaborate with Sarah Longenecker for this project, the Senior Manager of Content & Creative at Rodale Institute, was an incredible opportunity. We bounced ideas off of each other all day as we put together the photos that would soon become an animation. The editing process was also a great learning experience for myself. This was the first time I had worked on a project for a brand, so it had to fit what they were looking for. I went through multiple adjustments/edits that Sarah provided wonderful feedback on before we settled on the version you see today. Thank you to Rodale Institute and to Sarah for having me on this project!
