Ethical Issues

Problems:

1. Users will unlock the smart lock utilizing a phone app that is paired with the dynamic key generation of the lock. Due to this application, data will be trackable of when the door is locked/unlocked by the user.

2. Black hat hackers will be looking for potential exploitations in our lock design to be able to gain illegal entry.

3. We tend to think that locks are a device used to keep people out of a specific area. However, locks can be used for the contrary, keeping people locked into places, whether intentional or not.

Solutions:

1. We will ensure that our user's privacy is a top priority. We will not exploit their entering/leaving data and keep it stored in encrypted databases.

2. We will be aware that in the security business you are always fighting a battle to develop unbreachable technology. With this, we will ensure that we are keeping our technology on the cutting-edge of performance to prevent malicious activity.

3. We will ensure that there are easy ways to unlock the lock from the inside so that the lock cannot be utilized for trapping/kidnapping.
