Rana is a visual communication and type designer currently pursuing a PhD from the Department of Design, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

Rana has a master's degree in Visual Communication from the School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, and a bachelor's degree in Architecture from Nagpur University. Rana's academic journey reflects a strong foundation in both visual and type design and design research.

Rana Shinde presented "Visual Proportions of Multilingual Typefaces in Indic Scripts" at the UD26 Belonging Conference hosted by the University of Aveiro, Portugal. This paper was co-authored with PhD supervisor Saurabh Tewari.

18 December 2025, St Petersburg

Research Scholar Rana Shinde visited Saint Petersburg at the HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL to deliver a lecture, "Multilingual Typography in India".

Research Scholar Himani Kanojia with Prof Saurabh Tewari and Rana Shinde conducted a participatory co-design workshop titled "Re-imagining Everyday Products Together" focussed on integrating sustainability in product design.

Rana Shinde and Saurabh Tewari presented, “Across Time and Space: Evolution of Typography at Delhi’s Historic Architectural Monuments”, at Cumulus Association's P/references of Design at the Maholy-Nage University of Art and Design at Budapest.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t go to Budapest to be part of this event physically. However the hybrid mode has allowed us to present from New Delhi. We hope to share the paper when the organisers publish it.
