Tenma is a fugitive with no one location and relies on the kindness of the people he “saves” to provide him with basic needs. (Some let him spend the night, but his more lucrative patients, they pay him enough to carry himself through the week.)

Throughout his life, Tenma made very few friends and do not maintain a relationship with neither his parents or siblings. This allowed him to move to Germany and never have any regrets.

Tenma had undergone training with a soldier in order to have the strength, mentally, to kill someone. Because he was doing it under a means that was high risk, he was heavily stamped into the routine said soldier; jumping rope five hours a day, running miles and miles, strength training.

NOTICEABLE FEATURE(S): Stab wound in the arm, several bruises around his torso and a scrape wound on his leg.

FACE, EYES, HAIR: Jet black hair. (Grows it longer for lack of caring.) Face an inverted triangle with a rounded chin, strong jaw. Naturally thin eyes but thick eyebrows. Black eyes, with shadows underneath them. Not a permanent feature, but almost is due to him never getting enough sleep.

CLOTHING: Regular street clothing. Sometimes the same outfit in one week and rarely more than three.

PERSONALITY: At the forefront of everything, Tenma is an extreme workaholic with a strong moral compass. He prioritizes his patients and their well-being over anything, especially at his own risks. He's very much aware of emotional environments and cares deeply about the people around him. He’s obsessed with saving as many lives as he physically can, which is exploited through the people around him. An optimistic individual overall that battles with his mind constantly in attempt to see the good in others. When worried, he neglects self-care, collapsing for lack of food and/or sleep. Although he’s a highly skilled neurosurgeon, Tenma it’s always jumping out of his skin from fear of committing a mistake that will more often than not, result in death.

It was said to him once, that he does not fit into Japanese or German society and wades in a firm grey area.

MENTAL ILLNESS(ES): PTSD, Depression

Although a neurosurgeon, he is always up in arms with himself on the success of a patient’s procedure or recovery. Tenma is subject to extreme bouts of depression due to all his past experiences and dealings with a certain patient of his (Johan Liebert) that makes a game out of killing to attract his attention. He strongly believes that everyone’s death involving said killer is of his own carelessness.
A result of self-reflection can lead him to spiral through flashbacks and continuous stress over whether saving him was the right decision. He’s warped by the mindset that all lives are equal but fails to reconcile that they are “only equal in death as humans will always compete for the highest position possible.”

VERSES

i. MODERN | Main.

Neurosurgeon. Amidst the scholarly community of medical professionals, Kenzou opts for field work via non profit organizations and local clinics. His unwavering compassion for his patients outweighed the want for career advancement since it would pull him away from the floor. He operates without judgement and treat everyone equally, even being given request to perform surgery on the criminals who often funnel patients during the night.

ii. YOKAI | Folklore.

Black kitsune; the incarnation of peace. Born to the Zenko society, mirroring that of human society with various levels of awards based on the degree of hard work. Kenzou serves as a messenger, facilitating meetings between human and kami discouraging inaction and laziness of their yako counterpart. He may be found overseas, sent as a facilitator willing to foster unique relationships with other countries.
