What is the importance of Assessment in Learning?

Assessment is very significant in learning as it allows the teachers to measure the students learning and what they have learned. In assessing, it will be both beneficial for the students and teachers; as for learners, it can help them know where they lack in a specific area and may try their best to improve the next time; while for the teachers, it is very important for the teachers to regularly assess their learners’ progress to find out whether the students acquire the lesson or not. Another reason teachers must assess their learners is for them to know which part of the lesson is hard for the learners and if they have a shortcoming in terms of teaching. Assessment may look like a test that is constantly taken by the learners after the lesson but through learning ASL 2, I realized that it is more than that. It has a deeper explanation and it is significant in the process of learning.
