Instruments

Our laboratory is equipped with two state-of-the-art instruments for measurements of VOCs:

1. A Tofwerk Vocus PTR-TOF for real-time mass spectrometric measurements of VOCs with high sensitivity (<1 pptv), fast time response (<1 sec) and high mass resolution (>12,000).

2. An Aerodyne GC interface for chemically detailed measurements of VOCs with high sensitivity (<1 pptv) in individual samples collected onto an absorbent trap.

Data Sets

• We have published a PTR Library that lists detection ions, sensitivities and other, relevant physical parameters for a range of compounds.

Software Tools

• We have developed the PTR Data Toolkit to characterize the proper functioning of the instrument, account for instrument drift and incorporate calibrations made in the field as well as before and after the field deployment in the labratory.
