Debra Donovan

Hello everyone!

My name is Debra Donovan and I am an adjunct librarian. I have worked at Los Angeles City College, Glendale community college, East Los Angeles college, El Camino college, and I am excited to announce that I will be teaching my first online course at Los Angeles Valley college for the Fall 2020 semester. I am excited to put into practice all the tools I learned from my @one online teaching courses.

I started taking my first @one online teaching course in the summer of 2018, right after I graduated with a masters in Library and Information Technology from San Jose State University. From that summer until now I have taken every @one course that they offered which deals with online learning and course design. As a student in graduate school all my courses were online so I know how helpful it feels to have an instructor who has an online presence and how lonely it can feel to have an instructor and classroom full of peers with no on online presence and no interaction. In my capstone project I will demonstrate that I have mastered the five principles of online teaching that will help ensure the students in my class will get the most out of their online learning community.
