My mission is to provide culturally sensitive mental health services to Latinx community members and raise awareness and empathy about mental health. My goal is to advocate for and offer inclusive mental health care by working collaboratively with the community and incorporate cultural rituals and practices into my approach.
I really love this image. Tigers can symbolize strength for many, I particularly like that it is placed in the child's head. To me, this mural signifies power to take control over your mind and create our own journey.
Top 5 Clifton Strengths :
At first glance, reviewing my results felt a bit discouraging. This assessment reminded me of my weaknesses, such as lacking discipline, focus, and consistency. However, after learning more about my strengths and their contributions to teamwork, I felt more optimistic. I agreed with all the strengths identified and wasn't surprised that most of them fell within the "relationship building" category. I'm grateful for my ability to collaborate well with others harmoniously.
I was particularly surprised by how much I could relate to the "deliberative" and "restorative" strengths. When solving problems, I always analyze the issue and assess my options. It was helpful to understand how my brain works and to find the right words to explain my problem-solving approach.
Most importantly, this assessment helped me feel more confident about myself. I now see the importance of making informed decisions and recognize that my strengths are valuable. I aim to learn more about maximizing these strengths while finding balance in leadership. For example, as a "deliberative" person, I tend to plan extensively and analyze risks, which can lead to hypervigilance. I want to focus on reducing stress by acknowledging that while these traits are an asset, they may not always be required to their fullest extent for success in leadership.
To achieve this balance, I will rely on the strengths and expertise of others to keep projects moving forward. I will remain mindful of when my strengths are assets and when they might become barriers to our goals. By recognizing and utilizing my team's strengths, I can foster a more collaborative team. This approach will make me a more efficient leader

My core values are hope and respect, and they shape my leadership style by guiding how I work and interact with others. I strive to create an environment of mutual respect and understanding, where everyone's ideas and perspectives are valued. Hope allows me to believe in myself and my colleagues, knowing we can achieve great things together. These values enable me to approach my work with optimism and a collaborative mindset.
In decision-making, respect for myself and others serves as a key guide. I ensure that when making decisions I listen to other perspectives and, whenever possible, give a seat at the table to those affected by my decisions to prove their input. I do my best to ensure that outcomes respect the interests of most people or are as fair as possible. This approach helps create outcomes that respect the interests of most people and aim to be as fair as possible. Hope also plays a crucial role in my decision-making process. It makes me willing believe in people, take risks or make difficult choices, believing that regardless of the outcome, things will turn out okay or provide valuable lessons for everyone involved.
Leadership Theories:
Transformational leadership and empowerment theory shape my leadership philosophy because they align well with my core values of respect and hope. Transformational leadership challenges leaders to encourage creativity, motivate development, and promote change by helping individuals see their own potential. This theory resonates with my values, as it involves leading with optimism and respecting individuals' ability to create their own ideas for growth and change.
Empowerment theory encourages leaders to assess how power is distributed within organizations and systems, aiming to empower and support individuals at all levels to participate. This theory seeks to respect individuals, recognizing their skills, and promotes fairness by sharing power. It also connects with my value of hope, as empowerment depends on believing that we can change our circumstances. Both theories support my goal of being a leader who uplifts others and ensures that everyone has a seat at the table.
The area I wish to improve is self-management. I tend to get too stressed out by taking on more than I can handle. Learning to say no, particularly to my family, is something I'm actively working on to achieve better balance. To manage stress and strong emotions, I need to reflect on my triggers to prevent burnout.
I understand the importance of taking a few seconds to validate or question our thoughts and feelings. Incorporating this with breathing exercises will help me control my responses better. Additionally, I currently sleep 5 hours per night and want to increase that. Sleep is crucial for emotional regulation and believe that getting more sleep will make it easier for me to manage my emotions better
