Daniela Cerda is a senior at MSU Denver, pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work. This year, as part of her internship, she is piloting a Behavioral Case Manager position funded by a Colorado state grant. This role will focus on supporting opioid-dependent patients receiving medication assistance in a community health center. Despite being new to this area, she is excited to help with the opioid crisis and support her community.
After graduation, Daniela plans to pursue a master's in social work to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and provide culturally sensitive services to the Latinx community. Growing up with anxiety and depression, she struggled to find professionals who understood her background and faced stigma. Now, she aims to support young people with mental health issues and raise awareness. At the same time, she wants to use her leadership skills to inspire and motivate others to recognize their own leadership potential.
