Online Course/Workshop on Remote Learning
Rapid Transition to Online Learning (ROTL)
A 12-step global roadmap developed for schools, districts, schools, and educators who need a proven guide and support system to rapidly transition to remote learning immediately.
This is a one-hour online course provided to NYC DOE staff at no cost.
In the course, it includes tips on planning an online class, how to design pre-work, tech tools, and how to make use of face-to-face time.
General Tips from the Course:
Make use of face-to-face time: Don't lecture! (understanding, remembering) Use this time to support students' analyzing and applying.
Use pre-work (recorded videos, etc) for understanding and remembering
If possible, create your own instructional videos as pre-work. If curating videos, teachers bookend the videos (do introduction).
