Today saw the Final Panel of the II International Academic and Practical Conference “Dialogue of Cultures. Culture of Dialogue. From Conflicting to Understanding” held in the Conference Hall (room 311) of the Institute of Foreign Languages MCU (Maly Kazenny 5B, Moscow).

Final Panel was headed by Doctor of Philology, professor Larissa G.Vikulova.

Final Panel provided a general discussion on the reports presented by the keynote speakers during the Plenary Session.

Final Panel engaged 85 participants representing various Russian and foreign universities who formed a vibrant community exchanging ideas on the most topical issues of Linguistics and Linguodidactics. The results of the Conference proved the relevance of the subject matter along with the high level of of organization. An integrated digital format contributed to future scholarly work involving researchers from far away countries.

The Session in Area 3. Theory and practice of intercultural approach to studying was headed by Doctor of Pedagogy, professor Elena G. Tareva and welcomed 18 reports on a diverse range of topics.

The Session triggered heated debates on the following issues:

  • Linguistic and cultural as well as cross-cultural approaches to teaching foreign languages.

  • Verbal manipulation against the context of teaching cross-cultural competence in foreign language.

  • Personification of digital space in cross-cultural communication.

  • IT practices in teaching the dialogue of cultures.

  • The linguodidactic potential of mobile apps used in integrated FL teaching as well other subjects.

The Session prompted an animated discussion of the issues that are of primary concern and relevance and resulted in theoretical and practical aspects being integrated to achieve expertise.

24, April 2020 witnessed the Conference continuing with the Session in Area 4. The issues of culture, ethics, law, polyvalence in society which was organized via Microsoft Teams platform. The Session was headed by Doctor of Philology, professor Tatiana N. Bokova.

The Session engaged 17 reports on Pedagogy, Special Education and Psychology. There were participants from Moscow, Volgograd, Orel, Tula, Nizhy Novgorod, Voronezh, Vladivostok and guests from Melbourne. The Session resulted in a multidisciplinary dialogue and an exchange of ideas. The participants benefited from interesting discussions and exchange of practical findings.

23, April 2020 saw the Session in Area 1. The fundamentals of cross-cultural dialogue which was organized via Microsoft Teams platform. The Session was headed by Doctor of Pedagogy, professor Elena G. Tareva.

The Session involved 13 reports on Linguistics, Linguodidactics and Literary Studies presented by representatives of MCU, Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, Irkutsk State University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and others. The Session sparked up a meaningful and constructive dialogue which triggered a range of profound issues. The participants agreed that such a format of professional communication benefits the research, promotes the innovative way the findings are integrated.

23, April 2020 witnessed the Session in Area 2. Communication patterns for the dialogue of cultures which was organized via Microsoft Teams platform. The Session was headed by Doctor of Philology, professor Larissa G.Vikulova.

The Session welcomed 17 reports on Linguistics and Literary Studies prepared by professors with a number of universities: MCU, Moscow Pedagogical State University, Tambov State Technical University, Kuban State University, Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Linguistic University of Nizhy Novgorod, Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov, etc. The Session prompted an animated discussion of the issues that are of primary concern and relevance.

Today saw the Plenary Session within the framework of the II International Academic and Practical Conference “Dialogue of Cultures. Culture of Dialogue. From Conflicting to Understanding”. The Plenary Session was held in the Conference Hall (room 311) of the Institute of Foreign Languages MCU (Maly Kazenny 5B, Moscow). The reports from prominent Russian scholars specializing in Pedagogy and Philology were presented including Elena Tareva, Tatiana Bokova, Alexandr Savenkov. Vladislav Serikov, Irina Khoutyz and others.

The start of the conference welcomed 276 participants from 8 countries (Russia, Austria, Belgium, Australia, Germany, China, Moldavia, Poland) and more than 30 cities of Russia in particular (Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Volgograd, Voronezh, Ekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kazan, Krasnodar, Nizhy Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Pyatigorsk, Rostov-on-Don, Tambov, Chelyabinsk, Chechnya, Yaroslavl, etc.).

The conference brought together representatives of a number of universities in their joint effort to share the results of fruitful research:
