So, I'm calling you because Sunrise has just called for a massive mobilization in DC in about 3 weeks time, and I'm determined to go! We're in a narrow window of political opportunity where Democrats could pass ambitious legislation that would actually see the first pillar of the Green New Deal recognised, and put millons of us to work in good paying union jobs to tackle the climate crisis. [share more about why this matters to you]

I thought about you as a friend who [e.g. loves adventure and has been wanting to get involved for a while]. Would you be interested in coming with me to DC?

If yes --> Amazing! I'm going to send you the signup form right now.

If no --> Ask questions & talk through what's holding them back

Fun tricks to try to recruit on social media

1. Choose a social media platform you use the most

2. Prepare a brief but personal post to let people know the stakes & why you're showing up to DC. You could record a quick selfie video, post a selfie, etc!

3. Include an ask in your post for people to come to DC and message you if they have questions or want to coordinate

4. FOLLOW UP IN THE DMs with everyone who engages with your post -- this could be a like on your tweet, tiktok or IG post, or a vote in your IG story -- and ask them directly to come!

   • E.g. "Hey Sam! I saw you liked my post about going to DC with Sunrise Movement on June 28. I just wanted to follow up and see if you're interested in joining me?"
