• Scholars will enhance their research skills under the mentorship of a leading researcher at Washington University in St. Louis, preparing them for future PhD or MD/PhD programs.
• Scholars will develop the skills necessary to apply to top-tier PhD or MD/PhD programs by participating in professional development workshops, lab meetings, and other scientific community activities.
• Scholars will become aware of various career paths in the biological sciences by participating in career exploration programming, such as the “Summer Science Seminar Series”.
• Scholars will learn to effectively present their research findings through the creation and presentation of a scientific poster.
• Scholars will broaden their future educational and career opportunities through targeted support and inclusive networking activities.
• Scholars will strengthen their understanding of the biomedical research culture and the process of scientific discovery through active mentorship and hands-on research experience.
