Recognition of the RISE Student Board Members
Over the last several years it has been my pleasure and privilege to work alongside the RISE Student Board members. As you will observe by reviewing the projects on this website, these exceptional students worked tirelessly over several years to improve secondary school recycling processes. They were a cohesive group, supporting each other along the way while working toward their goals. They never wavered. I will forever be amazed and inspired by their talent, dedication, and perseverance through the many challenges they faced.

A Note To Readers
It is our hope that the Davis School District in coordination with Davis Farm to School will recruit an advisor to revive the RISE Student Board (RSB). An advisor would help facilitate the recruitment of RSB members from all secondary students within the district, establish a consistent meeting location, and oversee RSB projects.
Why revive the RSB? RSB membership provides secondary students the opportunity to learn leadership and team-building skills while working on projects such as data collection, analysis of sorting station placement, developing educational materials, and scheduling special events that will help improve school recycling education and compliance on campuses. Their projects expose students to more eco-friendly sustainable practices that they can emulate and continue throughout their lifetime.
Future RISE Student Board projects can be documented and linked to this website to show the evolution and continuity of recycling in the Davis school district.
