Urinetown

Set in a grim, Gotham-like city ravaged by a 20-year drought, Urinetown imagines a world where private toilets are outlawed. Citizens must pay to use public restrooms, all controlled by a single, corrupt corporation that profits off one of humanity’s most basic needs. When an unlikely hero decides he’s had enough, a rebellion is born—one that challenges authority, exposes hypocrisy, and asks what freedom really costs.

Hilariously funny and touchingly human, Urinetown reexamines the very notion of what a musical can be, proving that even in the darkest circumstances, revolution can begin with a laugh--or a pee.
