Due to COVID-19 the conferring of the Sacrament planned for May has been postponed to Sun Oct 4 @ 13:00 pm and to a later date.

Classes will meet ONLINE

FOR 2020 CANDIDATES AND THEIR FAMILIES

Please forgive me for the lack of communication.

This pandemic has brought about much uncertainty regarding when and what and how to prepare and present Confirmation Instruction,

as well as Rescheduling the timing and location of the conferral of the Sacrament.

Be assured we have kept and are keeping you all in our prayers!

We have not forgotten you!

YOUR DECISION

This year has brought us challenges and the timing of circumstances has resulted in a Confirmation preparation that will be presented Online (ie Distance Learning). Obviously this process is not our ideal nor preferred but is made necessary by State and County Health Orders. Furthermore, the forseeable months ahead will continue High School instruction for these candidates via Online tools, and perhaps at some point in person with masks and distancing and limited interactions. Given the continued stress and strain of these adjustments, combined with the less than ideal circumstances of Confirmation preparation that must continue and conclude, we completely understand and respect your right to postpone your candidate's reception of this Sacrament at this time.

If you prefer to DEFER reception of the Sacrament until next year (continuing your candidate with preparation for Confirmation in May/June 2021 in their own small group) please Notify us as soon as possible by contacting the Parish Office by Phone or Email. Our program will be extended and continue separately for this academic year will be administered Online and begin in October.

If you prefer to  CONTINUE to prepare to receive the Sacrament in a few weeks, please Notify us as soon as possible by contacting the Parish Office by Phone or Email. The rest of this webpage provides several To Do checklists and an aggressive ie short packed timeline to accomplish them. All must be satisfactorily completed by Wed Sep 30 to be eligible to receive the Sacrament.

Confirmation will conferred on the eligible candidates on Sunday October 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm in St David Church Parking Lot,

administered by our Parochial Administrator, Rev Fr Benedict Wonganant.

TO DO # 1 -- PAPERWORK

The following items must be provided to the Parish Office:

• Baptism Certificate (as soon as possible)

• First Communion Certificate (as soon as possible)

• Saint Name Form (as soon as possible)

• Sponsor Form ( as soon as possible)

• Sponsor Eligibility Document (as soon as possible) -- this is provided by the Sponsor's Parish. A Sponsor must be (1) a Fully Initiated Catholic (ie received Baptism and First Communion and Confirmation) and (2) Practice the Catholic faith in a parish (ie following the Precepts of the Church, eg attending Sunday Mass weekly, maintaining an actively registered parishioner status, etc). The Sponsor's Parish must certify this eligibility by providing to St David Parish Office a document signed by the Sponsor's Pastor. If providing such documentation poses a challenge, please contact St David Parish Office.

 Each candidate is required to sign up for TWO Confirmation Interviews:

• one with Instructor Ed Teixeira

• one with Pastor Rev Fr Benedict Wonganant

These interviews will be a half hour conversation to discuss

• Topics presented in class

• Interview Questions provided to the candidate in March 2020

• Readiness to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation
