Mr. Kenneth Farr
PRINCIPAL = July 1, 2019 thru June 30, 2023
Kenneth Farr in Grade 1 and in 2019 as Principal
Kenneth has been in the St. David community for 21 years, since he was in Kindergarten. His great-grandparents joined the parish in 1982. Two of Kenneth’s older cousins preceded him in attending and graduating from St. David School, so when Kenneth was born, there was no doubt that his family would enroll him here. He began Kindergarten in the 1997-1998 school year and continued his education at St. David School all the way through 8th grade, graduating with the class of 2006. Kenneth then went on to graduate from Salesian High School (now Salesian College Preparatory) with the class of 2010.
When it was time to declare a major in college, Kenneth knew he wanted to be a teacher, and had no problem declaring his major when he arrived at California State University, East Bay in the Fall of 2010. Kenneth graduated from CSUEB in the Spring of 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts and a Minor in Human Development. Kenneth was also fortunate enough to play basketball at the collegiate level for the Men’s Basketball team at CSUEB all four years. While at CSUEB, Kenneth continued giving back to St. David by serving as a Eucharistic Minister at Mass during weekends and summers.
Two days after graduating from CSUEB, Kenneth began his graduate studies at St. Mary’s College of California in Moraga. While obtaining his teaching credential, Kenneth needed a placement school to earn his Student Teaching hours. He chose to come back to St. David school and student teach in the 4th grade classroom for the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year. Two months after beginning, his student teaching placement turned into a long-term substitute teaching position in the 4th grade. Kenneth would go on to earn an official teaching position in the 2015-2016 school year. The following spring, Kenneth earned his Master of Arts Degree in Teaching from St. Mary’s College of California. In the 2017-2018 school year, he earned an additional role as the Vice Principal of St. David School. Five years and five homeroom classes later, Kenneth will leave the classroom and become a full-time administrator at his Alma Mater, St. David School.
Hello Everyone! I am extremely happy, excited, and grateful that the St. David community has shown so much support throughout the process to arrive here. I am so excited to work with each of the faculty and staff members, parents, students, alumni, parishioners, and so many others to ensure the success of St. David School. Being in the St. David community for the last 21 years and having graduated from St. David School has provided me a sense of knowledge of who we are here, and what we stand for. This school and parish have such rich history, and so many loving memories that so many people in our community hold in their hearts. My goal is to ensure that those factors are instilled in our current students, as well as faculty and staff members. I plan to work as hard as possible to continue upholding the safe, “family style” community that I experienced here as a student, teacher and Vice Principal. Additionally, I plan to see to it that our students are receiving a beneficial and quality education that will prepare them to succeed.
Again, I am so appreciative of the continued support I have received. Please pray for me, all our community members, and St. David School as a whole, as we all embark on this journey together.
Blessings, Kenneth Farr
