Project Description
This project allowed me to explore the many ways social media can impact not only myself but the world around me. Social media platforms allow you to interact with many people around the world and with those interactions you get introduced to fewer facts and more opinions. You must limit social media use so you won't find yourself in a digital bubble.
After taking the social media survey I was presented with the results that I am fairly reliant on social media but there are many others that are far worse than me. I don't believe I need to change my social media habits as I don't spend too much time on it or let it effect my mental health. If I had to choose one thing to change it would be letting social media be for the first app I open in the morning less.
Interesting Social Median Statistic
The most interesting statistic in the articles that were provided is that the age gaps between Snapchat and Instagram use are wider compared to Facebook and other platforms.
Social Media's Impact on Society
Social media has had a profound impact on society, transforming the way people communicate, interact, and access information. It has facilitated global connectivity, allowing individuals to connect with friends, family, and communities across borders. However, it has also given rise to issues such as the spread of misinformation, cyberbullying, and privacy concerns. Social media has influenced social and political movements, empowering individuals and amplifying their voices. It has also created new business opportunities and changed the way companies engage with customers, leading to economic growth and digital marketing innovations.
Lessons Learned
I learned that we spending too much time on social media sites can negatively impact our mental health but also there are positive ways that we can use social media to our advantage.
