As the lead Instructional Designer for a Criminology Unit, I was tasked with transforming a tutorial participation marking guide into an accessible academic checklist.
I led the transformation of an Early Childhood Education unit by implementing a flipped classroom model. My key contributions were guiding the unit coordinator, providing essential resources for the flipped classroom, and overseeing the production of 15 educational videos. Furthermore, I facilitated the restructuring of the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure it was aligned with the teaching strategy.
I was tasked to write a report on the application of authentic assessment (AA) for the Faculty of Arts. The document included both primary and secondary research. Select here to see some of the manifesto.
As a lead, I supported the production of 10 instructor introductory videos at the university studio. My role involved reviewing and making suggestions for the scripts and also helping with the configuration of production equipment.
I created "The Learning Design Exchange (LDx) Community of Practice (CoP)." I played a key role in democratically establishing the community's "Charter" and setting up the CoP page.
I took charge of restructuring a Gender and Power unit according to the Faculty Learning Management System template.
Additionally, I personally devised the Research Essay Plan Process, which aimed to establish a more coherent connection between the initial assignment and the eventual essay. Furthermore, I provided guidance on crafting quiz questions that were resistant to plagiarism and AI-generated responses.
I co-developed a rubric guide that included a participation checklist, a holistic rubric, a peer review checklist, and an analytic rubric for reflective writing.
Additionally, I provided illustrative examples of the various types of rubrics and explained their practical applications.
I supervised a content review of an online guide for both new and experienced unit convenors. My focus was on quality assurance which also involved a thorough examination of the content and improvements to the guide.
In my daily work, I actively promote cultural competence among staff while they create learning materials. For example, when assisting content creators, I ensure the use of respectful terminology by following the guide to writing and speaking about Indigenous People in Australia. I also contribute to indigenization efforts by ensuring proper attribution to Aboriginal artists for the images and artworks.
