Web Management and Design: I lead and train a staff of 3 public affairs specialists, 2 information specialists, and 2 contractor employees on a daily basis. This includes full web design (UX/CX), creation of content (writing, editing, graphics), structure (information architecture), accessibility (508 WCAG 2.0) for all web communication products. This also includes the creation, web design, remediation, and management of complex, informative, and educational content for 1 public-facing Drupal instance (~50 pages), 1 very large internal Drupal 10 web instance (~400 pages), minimal OneUSDA, and thousands of products produced and, or converted using desktop publishing software. Software typically includes those from the Microsoft and Adobe Suites of products such as Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Stream, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro, and more. Basic HTML.
CMS Systems: I work daily in several Drupal instances. Their internal functionality varies. I am considered an expert who collaborates with developers and provides guidance to content editors daily. I also have experience using CommonSpot and several common programs such as Google Sites, Wix, and more.
Training: Develop regular plain language and accessibility training sessions for my team as well as or an internal audience of approximately 1,000. Sessions are typically virtual and cover both introductory content about regulations, relevance, and policy as well as a more specialized "follow-along" approach.
Statistical Analysis: Utilize Google Analytics and some Site Improve to gather statistics and user behavior for analysis. Testing includes open card sorting and branch persona user-assisted testing. Feedback is gathered through testing, surveys, and web inboxes.
Web Graphics: Daily, I create, edit, and incorporate graphics, which can include video, for use in Drupal web. This include using Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Word, and more. I typically incorporate the graphics using the built-in Drupal embed media function, however I also utilize basic HTML i-frames for video and more. Consider copyright always.
508 Remediation: I am an expert in the remediation of content for section 508 requirements WCAG 2.0 AA standards. This includes training staff for remediation of web and desktop publishing products.
Communications Collaboration: Daily I work with program managers and interdisciplinary team members to develop webpages and more to educate the public and internal audiences about services, programs, and activities. These topics can be complex stemming from regulatory requirements, detailed processes, scientific information, and more.
