I was fortunate to have the experience of working in Death Valley as a Park Ranger. One of my projects involved hiking cross-country routes to record GPS data, take photos, and record a hiking journal to gather content to produce these maps and hiking guides, social media posts, web content, and content for mobile applications. I learned how to use ArcMap GIS to produce each map to create georeferenced for offline mobile use. This work was just one component of my #HikeDeathValley project that engaged tens of thousands of visitors before, during, and after their trips.
